BURDAN वरदान Building Resilience to Disaster Affected communities in Nepal

The BURDAN projects aim to strengthen disaster preparedness in Schools and Communities by promoting Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives through local governance. The goal of this project is to build community resilient through responsive governance for disaster risk reduction and emergency preparedness in Nepal in the post-disaster scenario.

OUTCOMES

1. The community and the local government of the project area will understand the DRR, educated and familiar with the DRR process and adopt the proper risk reduction;

2. The children, teachers, parents and the educational authorities understand the importance of School Safety and adopt the Safe School Framework to educate, prepare and act;

3. The government, policymakers, civil society, and public, in general, will be familiar with and act to adopt the SFDRR 2015-2030 priorities at the local level planning adopting the policy frameworks (NSDRM/DM Act, Policy and Action Plan developed at the national level).
